Co-Founder of Bitt
Oliver is co-founder of Bitt, a Barbados-based financial technology company founded in 2013 with a mission of providing financial access to all people using blockchain technology. Oliver has served as President, Chief Financial Officer, and Executive Director of the organization. Bitt became the first Caribbean bitcoin exchange in 2013, launched the Caribbean’s first blockchain mobile wallet and ATM in 2014, and in 2016 the company became the first to issue digital dollars backed by fiat currency onto a blockchain with central bank approval. These achievements led to a large investment from Overstock.com, and with this strategic partnership secured, Bitt continues to expand its footprint with global partnerships with central banks and financial institutions around the world. In 2013 Oliver co-founded CaribHash, the first Caribbean cryptocurrency mining operation, along with the Caribbean’s first digital asset management company, Cryptocurrency Capital Management in the same year.
Prior to his involvement in financial technology, Oliver was an award-winning recording artist and songwriter as founder and CEO of Caribbean record label Authentic Revolution. Oliver is a global advocate on digital assets, distributed ledger technology, financial inclusion and emerging payment systems. He has spoken at the United Nations ECLAC, World Bank, Caribbean Development Bank, Global Symposium of Regulators (ITU), and is a member of the Financial Inclusion Global Initiative (FIGI), a Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation funded project launched in collaboration with the World Bank. Oliver is a 31 years old and a first-class honors graduate from the University of Bristol, graduating from the Finance and Management program, and is an experienced cryptocurrency investor.
